Working lights for trucks

Buying work lights for trucks

Work lights ensure visibility during tasks performed in the dark, at the rear of the truck or on construction sites. Well-chosen work lights improve safety in harsh conditions such as rain, dust and vibration.

At Bas Parts & Tyres, you can choose from a wide range of truck work lights, LED or halogen, with different beam patterns and IP ratings.

Accessories for work lights

In addition to the work lights themselves, beacon lights, spotlights and marker lights are also widely used as additional lighting on trucks. These accessories increase visibility and safety on public roads or construction sites.

Frequently asked questions about truck work lights

What IP rating should a work light have?

A good work light should have at least IP65 for dust and splash protection. For high-pressure cleaning or frequent use in wet environments, IP67 or higher is recommended.

LED vs halogen: what should I choose?

LED work lights are energy-efficient, last longer and respond faster. Halogen is usually cheaper to purchase but consumes more energy and has a shorter lifespan.

How many lumens or lux do I need?

That depends on the task: for general lighting behind the truck, 500–1000 lumens is usually sufficient; for off-road work or long-distance illumination, 2000 lumens or more with good lux performance is recommended.

Are work lights allowed on public roads?

Yes, but often with regulations: the lamp must be adjustable so it does not blind other road users, and some jurisdictions require separate switches or automatic deactivation while driving. Always check local laws.
